§ 10-26. Purpose.

  • (a)

    It is the intent and purpose of this article to establish an office of emergency management to ensure the complete and efficient utilization of all resources of the county and its municipalities in the event of disaster as defined in this article.

    (b)

    The county office of emergency management shall be the coordinating agency for all activity in connection with emergency management; it will be the agency through which the county board of commissioners and the city councils may exercise the authority and discharge the responsibilities vested in them during states of disaster or local emergency.

    (c)

    This article shall not abridge or modify the authority of the governor or his delegates to implement emergency measures during declared states of disaster.
