§ 20-57. Purpose.

The purpose of this article is to:
(1)

Regulate the location, operation and management of hazardous and/or low-level radioactive waste facilities as well as incineration facilities dealing with the storage, transfer, treatment and/or disposal of such waste in the county.

(2)

Ensure the best available management practices are used in the location, operation and management of hazardous waste facilities in the county.

(3)

Ensure that operation of such facilities in the county poses no threat to the water, land and air resources of the county or to the public health and safety of its citizens.
